Vision Equitable Educational Opportunity Planning and Allocating Resources Infrastructure and System Integration Knowledge and Skills Policy making Accountability Early Stage Transitional Stage 21st Century Leading and Managing Vision – Includes integration of 21st century skills as overall vision for students through promotion and facilitation. Equitable Education – Ed. Goals, teaching strategies and assessments reflect needs of a diverse population, tools are distributed equally and all students have access to 21st century skills. Planning & Allocating Resources – allocation and infrastructure are structured to provide students, parents, teachers and administrators with access to 21st century tools and technology, there is tech support, and all district services are connected. Infrastructure & System Integration – All systems resources are connected, there is a process of handling technology support. Knowledge & Skills – Administrators are innovative, proficient in the use of 21st century tools in creating curriculum, assessment and standards, and demonstrate 21st century learning tools in management. Policymaking – focuses on integration of 21st century skills in to content mastery, educational objectives, state standards, and licensure of educators. Accountability – All schools, districts, administrators are evaluated on 21st century skills.

PARTNERING Parents Community Higher Education and Teacher Preparation Content Providers Business Early Stage Transitional Stage 21st Century Partnering 21st Century schools exhibit the following: Partnering – collaborate to help the child obtain mastery of both core subjects and 21st century skill, frequently use 21st century skills to facilitate dialogue, have mastery of 21st century tools to work towards improving their skills. Community – programs support learner mastery of 21st century skills, provide students with after school activities to develop 21st century skills. Higher Ed. & Teacher Prep. – all teacher prep programs graduate teachers who are proficient in content area and 21st century skills, prep programs promote the alignment of their programs to K-12 ed strategies. Content Providers – create content that include standards with 21st century skills, develop aligned resources, assessments and curriculum integration with 21st century skills. Business – K-12 and private sector partner to prepare students for workplace and 21st century skills mastery, K-12 students are mentored to develop these skills, businesses support ed programs that foster 21st century skills.
