6. Student Responsibilities
Use computers in a responsible and ethical manner.
Comply with trademark and copyright laws and all license agreements. Plagiarism is a violation of the OMS Student Handbook.
OCS will not back up documents on the Chromebook. Students should always manage their documents in their Google Drive.
OCS reserves the right to inspect and reset Chromebooks at any time.

7. Student Responsibilities
Chromebooks must remain free of any writing, drawing, stickers, or labels that are not the property of Oneonta City Schools.
Chromebooks must remain in a secure or supervised area. Any misplaced or unsupervised Chromebooks will be placed in the OMS office.
Students are responsible for keeping their Chromebook's battery charged for school each day.
Only media for educational purposes should be saved to the device. Any photo used as a screensaver or background should be appropriate for the school environment.

8. Student Responsibilities
Printing will not be available at school with the Chromebook. Assignments will be submitted electronically.
Storage on the device should be limited to educational use only.
Students are only allowed to login to the Chromebook with their ocsredskins.com account.
Students should keep the Chromebook away from food, drinks, and other liquids.

9. Student Responsibilities
Students are allowed to add extra extensions and apps on their Chromebooks. These will be monitored by the district and removed as needed.
If a student receives an with inappropriate and/or abusive language or if the subject matter is questionable, the student should make a teacher or administrator aware immediately.

11. Maintaining your Chromebook
Always put your Chromebook in “Sleep Mode” before closing the computer lid.
Keep the Chromebook away from extreme temperatures.
Do not stack books or other heavy materials on top of the chromebook.
Chromebooks should be in a protective sleeve, case, or backpack when being carried.

12. Chromebook Repair If your Chromebook seems to be malfunctioning:
Shut down the Chromebook and Restart
Technology Room
Hours are 7:30-7:50 am and 2:35-2:55 daily
Loaner devices may be assigned during repair (Loaners may NOT be taken home.)
Must leave the charger when the Chromebook is being repaired
Excessive Damage will result in fines issued to the student

13. Chromebook Return May 18-20
Must return if student withdraws, is expelled, or terminates enrollment at OCS.
Failure to return the device will result in a theft report being filed with the Oneonta Police Department
Upon return, students are responsible for any damage to the Chromebook. Normal wear is expected, but the Chromebooks are expected to be returned in good working condition.

14. Student Dismissal Go to the Tech Room (Next to Mrs. Malek’s Office)
Form a line.
Exchange signed forms for a Chromebook and your login information.
Go to a table, open the box, and turn on Chromebook.
Login. Make sure a teacher sees you log in successfully.
Take your Chromebook and box home.
Make sure your Chromebook returns with you Wednesday, fully charged.

16. At Home Students are allowed to connect to their home Internet.
Students may set up home printing capabilities.
