monash.edu/teammonash Monash Badminton - Caulfield Monthly dinner night Intra club competition Monash Volleyball Club They already run a ‘come and try’ social volleyball session on a Wednesday night for students. They have Senior players come down to coach the players and overseas games at the end of the session. Monash Boardriders Club They have a Facebook ‘Buddies’ page where anybody can post an activity they would like to do or are planning on doing for students to join in.

They say that if they could get money for a bus, they could offer more opportunities.

monash.edu/teammonash Run Monash Social media push to promote attendance at the baseball pavilion and also ten question survey to get to know each other Monash Cricket - Caulfield Teams from colleges to engage more student based teams Winter competition Monash Soccer - Clayton Smaller side competition With the influx of students from O-week, interest doubles as a networking option and trial for all teams as there is no room to grow. Monash Wushu Introduced a hour trial period on Thursday’s which incorporated learning basic skills for both experienced and learner participants; this resulted in the gap between skills being reduced Member retention is higher

monash.edu/teammonash Monash Baseball Giving students the opportunity to attend Melbourne Aces games by promoting in Halls and providing transport Monash Underwater (Hockey and Scuba) Provide cheap open water diving qualification courses, encourage students to attend and give back to the club Internal Underwater Hockey matches. Catering for all levels and abilities. To promote the sport. Monash Hockey Internal student “Hook into Hockey” social competitions to cater for all levels

monash.edu/teammonash Monash Kickboxing Introducing social and team aspects to the sport - Entering and training as a team for the Spartan race - Running various social events (welcome BBQ’S, Pizza nights) - Training / social camp Running separate self-defence workshops which are open to members, students and the general public Monash Water Polo Dedicated free Monday training for beginner students to make it not intimidating Students specific nights - some away from the pool eg: bowling Monash Badminton - Clayton $5 reduced rate for students to play on the courts to engage more participation

Take ways from today The University is changing rapidly so the Clubs need to reflect and accommodate that change. There are no sacred cows! Communication is a two way street- The University needs to know more about how to help Clubs make the greatest contribution All affiliated sports Clubs need to be; student centric champions and ambassadors of the University brand Media savvy Support other parts of Team Monash
