Accountability, Validity, Equitability Education, both in state and nationally, is moving toward holding classroom teachers accountable for their contributions to student growth. How can we increase equitability by having classroom teachers participate in validating the data which will affect them most? 3

Build trust in our educator effectiveness measures: Since educators are to be held accountable for student growth within their evaluations, they need a voice in informing the record of which students they taught. Further improve our data quality and account for the complexity of teacher-student-course attribution : Additional Uses: Highly Qualified Teacher data, Early Learning Initiatives, Federal Loan Forgiveness WVEIS is limited in its capacity to reflect dynamic instructional scenarios.

Educators become involved in a process to ensure the record of instruction is official and right, not official and wrong. This process builds on efforts to strengthen our data quality. 8
