Paper Prototype Takeaways Rules are fundamental to both the fun and the meaning of a game! Modding something you already know is a good way to generate new ideas! Using paper to map out your game is a crucial part of the design process!

Genre Bending Takeaways Ground your game in established conventions, but break them just enough to make it interesting! Implementing unexpected constraints (combining random genres) can generate novel concepts you may not have considered before! Play a creativity game!

Procedural Thinking Takeaways Computers are obedient, sequential thinkers that enforce rules and procedures absolutely at a very fast pace! Break tasks into step-by-step instructions to identify procedures that the computer will need to perform for your game! Flowcharts are a great way to map out procedural logics!
