2. Today we will be continuing with the elements of a good story, looking at characters. Look up the definition of character in the red glossary section in the back of your Lit book. Write the definition in your notes.

4. Think of some characters in movies or books that you have read. Write a 3-5 sentence paragraph detailing your favorite character and what made him / her memorable.

6. Protagonist t he main character in a literary work. Usually a hero / heroine, but not always.

7. Antagonist the principal character in opposition to the protagonist or hero / heroine.

8. Round characters well developed characters that change over time. We get to know a lot about them (usually major characters).

9. Flat characters a ppear in the story, but have very limited personalities. They do not change much over the course of the story.
