OBJECTIVE: Today we will recall the film so that we can make higher-level connections between it and the novel “The Children of Willesden Lane.” Think about how these two different stories may share similar themes, settings, and characters.

PLOT: In WWII Germany, Swing music becomes the underground movement of young people. Two engineering students attempt to be Swing Kids by night and Hitler Youth by day. The impact of this decision is felt acutely by their friends and families. A charming SS officer complicates matters for peter, whose father was taken away for defending his Jewish colleagues at the University. CHARACTERS: Peter Muller Thomas Berger Arvid Herr Schumler
