Established: May 18 th. 1970, opened it’s doors in Lembah Pantai Kuala Lumpur and moved to Bangi Campus in Oct 1977 The first batch from 3 faculties: Science, Arts and Islamic Studies. of 190 undergraduates and 1 post-graduates 1974, UKM set up a SABAH campus in Kebun Kawang, Papar for faculty of Science and Natural Resources. 1980 : move to Bukit Padang, Kota Kinabalu and 1990 relocated to Menggatal, Tuaran in 1990. With the formation of University Malaysia Sabah in 1994, UKM’s Sabah campus was officially closed in 1996. Currently: 13 faculties, a Graduate School of Business (GSB-UKM), and 16 research institutes of excellence in education.
