Simplest Form
Simplest Form – A fraction that is expressed using the largest fraction piece possible.
Example – Simplest form of 3/6 is 1/2

4. Model to find Simplest Fraction
Use two 1/8 fraction pieces to show 2/8.
Find the largest fraction piece that is the same length as 2/8.
The 1/4 fraction piece is same as two 1/8 fraction pieces.

5. Simplest fraction by division
Divide numerator and denominator by the same number to find the simplest form of fraction.
Example –
To find simplest fraction of 2/6
Divide 2÷2 / 6÷2
= 1/3

6. Write the fraction 5/15 in simplest form.

5/15 = 1/3

7. Write the simplest form of fraction. a) 2/16 b) 4/6
Answer – a) 2÷2/16÷2
= 1/8
b) 4/6
4÷2/6÷2
= 2/3
