ComprehensiveFocused Evidence needs to be collected for all 27 components found in all 8 Criteria Evidence needs to be collected in one of the 8 Criteria Need a goal in either 3, 6 or 8 Criteria (choose 1) If your focus criterion is not 3, 6 or 8, you still must choose 3, 6 or 8 as your one required student growth measure.

Formal Observation #1 (newly hired teacher: before November 22 nd ; all other provisional teachers before December 21 st ) Pre and Post conferences required Written report must be provided to teacher within 5 days of the post observation conference Formal Observation #2 (before March 1 st ) Pre conference optional Post conference required Written report must be provided to teacher within 5 days of the post observation conference Complete Evaluation Must meet with employee and be signed by both evaluator and teacher on or before April 15 th

Minimum total of 60 minutes of classroom observation is required for teachers on 1 st and 2 nd year Provisional Contracts Minimum total of 90 minutes of classroom observation (over at least 3 observations, 2 of which must be formal) is required for teachers on 3 rd year Provisional Contracts The first formal observation must be at least 30 minutes long Data can come from informal observations IF results documented in writing and provided to employee

f. Information gathered during informal observations may be included in summative evaluation. Documentation in writing will be provided to the employee for any concerns included in the summative evaluation, within five (5) work days of the observation. Page 137 in the CBA

Focused Cycle All teachers are expected to receive a Summative Performance Score of Level 3: Proficient or higher for the Criterion on which they are evaluated Comprehensive Cycle All teachers with 4 years or more certificated teaching experience are expected to receive a Summative Performance Rating of 3 or higher. Summative Performance Ratings are based on the sum of the criterion-level scores: Teachers in their first four years of teaching are considered to have met minimum performance expectations if they receive a Summative Criterion Score of: Level 1Level 2Level 3Level 4 Sum of Criterion Level Scores 8 – 1415 – 2122 – 2829 – 32 Year 1Year 2Year 3Year 4 Sum of Criterion Level Scores 15 or higher18 or higher20 or higher22 or higher
