3 Paired Work Read the other short extracts on the handout. Decide which answer fits best for each character. HINT: there is only one answer for each character.

4 Group Task Read the extract from Matilda. Pick out examples of things that each character says (quote). Discuss what these quotes tell us about the characters’ personalities. REMEMBER: each group should have a chairperson, reporter and timekeeper. For this task, EVERYONE must be a recorder.
