2 What Is a Resume? ▪A resume is a summary of your experiences and skills ▪It highlights your accomplishments to show a potential employer that you are qualified for a position (it is not a biography of everything you have done) ▪Its purpose is to get you an interview/internship

3 Why Is My Resume So Important? ▪It’s the first thing – and sometimes the only thing – a potential employer will look at ▪It’s often used as a screening tool ▪It’s an example of your writing skills ▪It’s an overview of your experiences and accomplishments
