Grid Formats… a selection of the columns you choose to display, the sequence in which you want them displayed, and how information is displayed in your grid. Composite Application Framework (CafeOne)… a user interface framework that enables JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications to integrate with multiple third-party content and applications, as well as other EnterpriseOne applications. EnterpriseOne Pages… the first screen end-users see when they log into EnterpriseOne. They are HTML files and can contain any HTML-enabled functionality, such as interactive process flows, URL links and web pages, company logos, and so on. All rights reserved. | UDO Lifecycle Each personalization feature provides consistent functions for users to: create UDOs for their own personal use; request to share UDOs with others; and modify UDOs created by other users. This is done through the EnterpriseOne interface. If a user requests to share a UDO, an approver uses the Work with User Defined Objects application (P98220U) to review and approve or reject the UDO.

All rights reserved. | UDO Lifecycle A users’ ability to create, share, and view UDOs depends on the security an administrator has assigned in the Security Workbench - Work With User/Role Security application. OMW users can package and promote UDOs between path codes using the Web OMW application (P98220W).

11 Copyright © 2015, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. | Consistent Creation and Sharing of UDOs EnterpriseOne has a design panel located on the right of the screen that provides you with a consistent way to create and share UDOs. This is the Query Manager design panel. The information presented here changes depending on the UDO you choose to create.

All rights reserved. | UDO Icons This is a description of the icons and what functionality they provide: Save – Click this icon to save the UDO you created. Save As – Click this icon to save a UDO that you have changed so that it has a different name. Request to Publish – Click this icon to request to share a UDO. An approver then reviews it and can approve it to be shared with other users. Reserve – Click this icon to reserve an existing UDO to which you want to make changes. Reserving it ensures that no one else can edit it while you make your changes. You then resubmit the UDO, with your changes, for approval. Delete – Click this icon to delete the UDO from your own list of UDOs. This does not delete it from other users’ ability to view it.

14 Copyright © 2015, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. | Approving UDOs An approver uses the Work with User Defined Objects application (P98220U) to search for objects Pending Approval. When they find one, they review it, and then they approve or reject it. After you Request to Publish a UDO, it must be approved before others can view it.

15 Copyright © 2015, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. | Approving UDOs If the UDO is approved by the approver, what happens? Users/Roles who have been enabled through security can view the shared UDO.

16 Copyright © 2015, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. | Approving UDOs The approver can send a message to the user’s work center explaining why the UDO was rejected. The user can make changes and resubmit the UDOs for approval using the Request to Publish option. If the UDO is rejected by the approver, what happens?

17 Copyright © 2015, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. | Approving UDOs Personal – UDOs in this category are ones you have created for yourself, but have not Requested to Publish. Pending Approval – UDOs in this category are ones you have created and have Requested to Publish. Rework – UDOs in this category are ones you have Requested to Publish, but have been rejected by the approver. Reserved – UDOs in this category are ones that are shared, but you have reserved to make changes to. Once reserved, no other user can make changes to those UDOs. Shared – UDOs in this category are ones that are shared. This menu shows how UDOs are categorized according to their statuses.

18 Copyright © 2015, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. | An administrator sets up security in EnterpriseOne to determine: Which UDOs are available in EnterpriseOne. Who can create UDOs for their own personal use. Who can Request to Publish (or share) UDOs with other users. Who can view UDOs created by others. Who can modify UDOs shared by other users. Securing UDOs Your ability to create, share, and view UDOs depends on the permissions your administrator has given you.

19 Copyright © 2015, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. | Securing UDOs There are three types of security you enable for UDOs: Feature – Activates or deactivates each UDO globally in the EnterpriseOne system. UDOs are secure by default; they are not available in EnterpriseOne until you activate them in the "Revise Feature Enablement" form in the EnterpriseOne Security Workbench. Action – This type of security determines the actions users can perform with a particular UDO type. You can authorize users to create UDOs for their own personal use, share UDOs with other users, or modify UDOs created by others. UDO action security is set up by UDO type for a user, role, or *PUBLIC (all users). View – This type of security authorizes access to shared UDOs. You can apply UDO view security to each individual shared UDO for a user, role, or *PUBLIC. Or you can apply UDO view security to all shared UDOs of a particular UDO type. Content – This type of security applies to Composite Application Framework UDOs only. A Composite Application Framework can be comprised of embedded EnterpriseOne forms, content from external web sites, or Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition reports. In addition to setting up action and view security for Composite Application Framework UDOs, you must also set up security to authorize users to view or work with the content within a Composite Application Framework.
