Testing Format Performance Based AssessmentEnd-of-Year Assessment *Test will be taken in March*Test will be taken in May Three Item Types: * Evidence Based selected response- Traditional multiple choice questions with a second selected-response question that ask students to show evidence from the text. *Technology Enhanced Constructed Response- use technology to answer question. *Prose Constructed Responses- Elicits evidence that students have understood a text (essay question). Testing Format Literary Analysis TaskNarrative TaskResearch Simulation Task Students read literature Students answer EBSR and TECR questions Students compose an analytic essay *Students read literature or informational text *Students answer EBSR and TECR questions *Narrative writing conveys experiences, both real and imagined. *Students may write a story detail scientific process, etc. *Students analyze articles or multimedia stimuli on an informational topic *Students answer a series of EBSR and TECR questions, leading to final essay. *Students synthesize information to write analytical essays. March Assessment Taken from PARCC/Literacy Sample & MDE

Testing Format End-of-Year Assessment Students read complex information or literary texts on grade level with a variety of complexities. Students answer EBSR and TECR items (1 vocabulary item per text) Some texts may be paired passages No writing component Taken from PARCC/Literacy Sample & MDE
