Places for Medieval Music Music was played in three different places: -Monasteries +Monks were the first to write music -Cathedrals +Later the local cathedral became the center of life and culture of the village people. -Castles +Troubadours and bards created profane music that entertained the upper class Monserrat Monastery Castle in Segovia Santiago de Compostela Cathedral
