STAKEHOLDER ENTERPRISE PORTAL The SEP (Stakeholder Enterprise Portal) is a single, secure entry portal that provides VA partner organizations and external stakeholders access to the web-based systems they need to assist Veterans and their dependents.

WHAT DOES IT DO?? It helps Veterans Service Organizations and other external VA business partners represent Veterans more quickly, efficiently, and electronically.

ADDRESSING THE BACKLOG The Veterans Benefits Administration goal is to eliminate the backlog and process all claims within 125 days with 98% accuracy in 2015. SEP is “one” element of the plan to make that goal. (When it works) it helps eliminate the submission of paper-based forms, ultimately contributing to a reduction in the claims processing time. With ALL of the needed and correct information – SEP on average for the claims office can do a dependency claim from start to finish in approx. 1-2 days. This includes the Award Letter!!!

WHO CAN/SHOULD USE SEP?? Veterans Service Organizations, education providers, doctors, attorneys, loan appraisers, benefit providers, and many others will be able to access information, upload documents, submit claims, and perform other actions on behalf of Veterans. As of 2014, VSOs are currently the only authorized partners able to use SEP. This will change of course as more accesses are granted in the future.

UPDATING DEPENDENTS This screen is virtually a home screen when updating dependents

UPDATING DEPENDENTS CONT’D When adding or removing ANY dependent – All areas must be updated. FOR EXAMPLE: When adding a new child for the veteran, you must still go through and update all marriage/divorce info along with correct info for every other dependent. This is why it is “SO IMPORTANT” to get all information regarding every dependent – Whether or not you’re doing anything for that “other” dependent.

CONFIMATION # CONT’D In essence this confirmation # is the only “proof” that you have that you have submitted this claim. In other words this is what our office gets instead of a date stamped transmittal. After this is given we print the page and scan the information into VetraSpec so that we still have proof that we submitted something on behalf of the Veteran.
