WHY VEO? Teachers want to improve. Improving isn't always easy! Formal observations ≠ improvement. Written obs often fail to capture +/-s effectively.

AIMS Increase ongoing, supportive, peer-led CPD & sharing of good practice. Change the mind-set throughout schools about the purpose of observation: Encourage less "surveillance-style" observations; Assessment FOR teaching not assessment OF teaching; Enable more effective professional discussion - shifting discussion from describing to interpreting; Improve classroom practice while reducing pressure & stress.
