Installation Basics Double-check user’s server name Select “single user” install type unless multi-user is specifically needed Sametime server: unlintime.unl.edu Create data folder “template”

Client Upgrades Backup user’s entire data folder Especially true for major upgrades Uninstall and upgrade sometimes needed, delete Lotus program directory after uninstalling the old version The more “customized” a user’s Notes is, the more likely problems are to occur

Changing Computers (continued) Alternatively, copy and paste existing data folder and notes.ini file into the new computer’s Lotus directory Usually works, but requires more experience with Lotus directory structure and files to troubleshoot problems

Speaking of Problems… “Ctrl-Shift-F9” Restart Lotus and/or computer Delete/rename “bookmark.nsf” Delete “cache.ndk” Create/replace “names.nsf” Edit “notes.ini” to reconfigure Notes

Stress Relief Keep things clean! Delete redundant Notes folders Delete old data folders and IDs Makes troubleshooting and changing computers much easier Minimize number of messages in Inbox Do not create a folder called “Inbox”
