3. Brooklyn Dodgers  Founded in 1883 as a member of the minor inter-state league  Became part of the National League in 1890  Originally nicknamed the “Bridegrooms” because many of the players were married prior to the 1888 season.  After more nicknames, the eventually adopted the name “Dodgers” which is short for “Trolley Dodgers” in 1932.  Ebbets Field was their first home in Brooklyn, New York from 1913- 1957.  When they moved to Los Angeles they played in the Los Angeles Memorial Colissium from 1958-1961.  From 1962 to the present they now play at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.  They have won a total of 6 World Series titles.
