1 Joy in the Lord ► Acts 8:38-39 ► 38 And he ordered the chariot to stop; and they both went down into the water, Philip as well as the eunuch; and he baptized him. 39 And when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away; and the eunuch saw him no more, but went on his way rejoicing.

3 Joy in the Lord is Spiritual ► ► Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ► ► 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

5 How to Enjoy Being in the Lord ► 1. Be committed To Christ ► Heb. 12:2 … looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. ► Matt 6:33 "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.

6 COMMITMENT SO STRONG ► 1. We are willing to die for Him ► Rev. 2:10 “Be thou faithful unto death and I will give you a crown of life”

7 COMMITMENT SO STRONG ► We are willing to live for Him ► Matt 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. ► 25 "For whoever wishes to save his life shall lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake shall find it.

8 COMMITMENT SO STRONG ► We are willing to live for Him ► Rom 12:1 I urge you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

9 COMMITMENT SO STRONG ► We are willing to live for Him ► Luke 14:26 "If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple.

10 COMMITMENT SO STRONG ► We are willing to live for Him ► Gal 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and delivered Himself up for me.

Be Focused ► Matt 6:22 "The lamp of the body is the eye; if therefore your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. ► 23 "But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! ► 24 "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will hold to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

12 How to Enjoy Being in the Lord ► 3. Be Involved ► … in the Work of the Lord. ► 1 Cor 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.

13 How to Enjoy Being in the Lord ► 3. Be Involved ► … in the Work of the Lord. ► Rom 12:6 And since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let each exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith;

Be Involved ► … with others. ► Heb 10:24 and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, ► 25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more, as you see the day drawing near.

Develop a deep Familial Relationship with God. ► Rom 8:15 For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, "Abba! Father!" ► 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, ► 17 and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him in order that we may also be glorified with Him.

16 How to Enjoy Being in the Lord ► 4. Develop a deep Familial Relationship with God. ► 1. through Bible Study ► ► 2 Tim 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth.

Develop a deep Familial Relationship with God. ► 2. through Worship ► John 4:23 "But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. ► 24 "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

18 How to Enjoy Being in the Lord ► 4. Develop a deep Familial Relationship with God. ► 3. through Prayer ► Jesus is our example! ► ► Luke 22:44 And being in agony He was praying very fervently; and His sweat became like drops of blood, falling down upon the ground.

19 ► I ► I AM YOUR MASTER can make you rise or fall. can make you a success or failure. can work for or against you. control your feelings and actions. can make your heart sing with happiness. can make you wretched, dejected, or morbid. can make you angry and resentful. can make you lonely, discouraged or depressed. can make you sick and listless. can be a shackle, heavy and burdensome. can be a prism's hue, dancing, bright, and colorful. can be nurtured and grown to be beautiful. can never be removed, only replaced. AM YOUR ATTITUDE….

20 How to Enjoy Being in the Lord ► Get into the Lord ► Gal 3:26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. ► 27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
