What is the HR function? What are the goals of HRM? Roles of HR staff – Transactional (traditional view) – Employee relations – Functional expertise – Business partner/strategic

HR Stakeholders HR is responsible to many different stakeholders – Management – Employees – Unions – Regulatory agencies (for example, EEOC) – Shareholders Must balance desires of multiple stakeholders
