Keywords vs. Subjects http://www.flickr.com/photos/cambodia4kidsorg Keywords are any words matches your words may have more than one meaning and so may return many irrelevant results (like Apple…) Subject headings are assigned by a human being Come from a standardized list of terms Indicate what the book/article is about.

Call Number: unique number to each book (like an address use this to find it) Location: will first direct you to a specific section of the library. Stacks (lower level) Circulation Desk (usually Reserve material) Disk (ask at the Circulation Desk) Reference stacks (main floor, southeast corner) ArchLib stacks (aisles 2 through 9) Temporarily Shelved at Arch Desk Status: Available, Borrowed, Missing, Lost, etc. Subject Headings
