What is solfege? A method of teaching sight singing using the syllables “ Do, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La, and Ti”.

The purpose of solfege… To help singers be able to accurately sing pitches when they are sight reading a piece or having difficulty with intervals

Who Was The Inventor of Solfege? Guido de Arezzo 992 A.D?-1033A.D? Italian Monk, who was also the inventor of modern musical notation and the music staff itself.

Moveable “ Do” “ Do” is the first syllable of every scale followed by “Re”, “ Mi”, “Fa”, and “ Sol” on. ( ha ha! get it?)

Fixed “Do” In a fixed “ Do” system, C is always “ Do”, D is always “Re” and so on. What would this be if it were sung on a Fixed “ Do” system?
