The Directorate of Technical Education, Mumbai is the Competent Authority for admission to First Year Engineering.
It conducts a Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for the admission to First Year BE.
There are around 1.35 lakh seats available in 12 universities and 366 institutions in Maharashtra.

9. Steps In The Admission Through CAP
To Purchase an Application kit from ARC Center having the cost of Rs.700/-(For General Category) and Rs.500/-(For Backward Category).
The application kit Contains an USER-ID and PASSWORD.
Fill the Online Application form for CAP from anywhere (Home, Cyber Café, ARC) by eligible candidates. Form is available on website with the help of given User ID & Password.

10. Steps In The Admission Through CAP
After entering user ID & password you will get online application form. During online filling of the form, all the students have to enter their necessary qualification & personal details carefully and take the print out of application form after complete registration.
After online registration, students must have to visit at any ARC with original documents and the print out of an application form for verification.
Once the verification process is done by ARC, students will get the acknowledgement printout as well as the confirmation by SMS/ .

11. Steps In The Admission Through CAP
As per the displayed schedule merit list will be displayed on website
Merit list will be prepared probably on the basis of Composite score i.e., marks obtained after adding 50% of JEE (Main)2015 (Paper 1) marks and 50% of normalized Standard XII (Board or Equivalent Examination) marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
For filling optional form student has to visit above website from anywhere. By using login ID & password you will get link of option form.

12. Steps In The Admission Through CAP
You have to enter min. 1 and max. 100 option and “Confirm“ the option by clicking “confirm” button.
While filling the options - branch code and college code is required which will available web site of DTE.
As per the schedule displayed, the student will get Allotment letter from his / her login ID for CAP Round I.

13. Steps In The Admission Through CAP
Report to respective Institutes as per allotment of CAP Round I along with original documents and allotment letter within given time.
Above procedure shall be followed for CAP Round II as per the displayed schedule.
Round – III is a counseling round (If seats are available). It is part of CAP will be conducted at six different locations in Maharashtra state. Locations will be displayed later.
Those registered students who have not allotted college in Ist & IInd rounds will be eligible for counseling round.
