2 Using ProQuest Databases  ProQuest is a group of databases, many of which contain full-text articles.

6 Searching a ProQuest Database Basic Search is an ideal way to get started. Type in a word or phrase. Then select a database and click on

15 Using your search results Let’s examine the features contained in each entry.

16 Using your search results Each entry is formatted in the same way.

17 Using your search results You have several options for working with ProQuest records. You can review abstracts and citations of articles or, in many cases, read the full text online. Abstract Full text link Citation

18 Using your search results At the bottom of the screen are options for emailing or printing the articles that interest you.

19 Using your search results The Mark Document option is useful for keeping track of details from your searches. Collect articles of interest into a list that you can review, print, email, or export as a bibliography.

20 Using your search results To add an article to your Marked List, check the Mark Article checkbox. ProQuest automatically adds the article to your Marked List.

21 Using your search results Once you have a list of marked items, you can create a bibliography or a works cited page from your list. Click on My Research to begin.

23 Using your search results Choose Create your bibliography. You can email, print, download, or create a web page of it.

25 Using your search results Your bibliography displays. Follow the directions at the bottom of the screen.

27 Using your search results Below the title of the article you will see information about the article, including the author's name, subjects, companies, people, and other keywords or index terms. (The information listed depends on the database you are searching as well as the current article.)

28 Using your search results If your article contains index terms or keywords, you can check boxes in the orange More Like This section to select one or more of these terms. Then, click Search to run a new search using those terms.

31 Using your search results Clicking on Email will give you options for sending the article as an email.

35 Searching a ProQuest Database Several search strings & indexes can be combined, and you can set other search limits. Combine terms with ~AND~ ~NOT~ ~OR~ You can specify a Date Range… …or limit results to specific types
