3 New Services from ITS ServiceDescription Virtual Servers 1 CPU Server / $478.92 per year VaaS offers low cost virtual servers using enterprise class hardware in secured data centers. Using VaaS virtual servers can yield significant cost savings with numerous benefits and features. Virtual Desktops 1 base machine – $256.20 Desktop virtualization provides the hosting infrastructure for virtualizing Windows desktops. It enables remote computing and thin client access from any internet-connected device. Mainstream Storage $3.36 / GB per year This full-featured solution provides Windows-compatible file space. Available in gigabyte increments, Mainstream Storage enables local system administrators to manage storage provisioning and access for their department. Value Storage $125 / TB per year (replicated) $250 / TB per year (replicated) Value storage is designed to provide a cost-effective way for University researchers (and others with large storage needs) to store large amounts of data in a centralized location. Disk space can be purchased in terabyte increments. Flux – High Performance Computing $11.20 per core month High performance computing cluster with comprehensive software library. The rate is comprised of equipment and data center costs that can be billed separately $6.81 for equipment and $4.39 for data center costs (space and utilities.) 4 Billing Goals Review the end to end process for new services. (Ordering  Provisioning  Billing  Reconciliation) Provide comprehensive and clear billing information. – Description of service – Configuration of service – Amount of service being used – Who ordered and/or is responsible in the unit for the service – Provide units with ability to add internal reference data ITS contact for billing questions with defined processes for responding to billing / service questions.
