3 Mass is a measurement of the amount of matter in an object. Ex. A bowling ball vs. a basket ball Weight is a measurement of the gravitational force acting on an object. Ex. Dropping a bowling ball vs. a feather Mass vs. Weight

7 Chemical compounds are pure substances made of atoms of different elements combined in a definite, fixed ratios. Ex. Water will have the same property no matter where it comes from. A molecule is the smallest chemical unit of a compound that retains the composition and properties of the compound and can exist independently. Ex. 2H’s and 1O
