10 X 10 = 100 WBL PROJECT – MULTIPLICATION SKILLS Yolanda Dreyer Project description: Some Spanish-speaking children are having problems quickly finding the right answer to one-digit multiplication problems. This instructional aid will be developed in Spanish to help Spanish-speaking second and third grade students, who have deficiencies in basic mathematical skills. To multiply two numbers, some of the children are using addition to get to the answer. I realized that they knew the multiplication concept, but they were using the wrong method to solve multiplication problems. Remembering the way I was taught and the way I taught my children, I started memorization drills using flashcards and basic tables. In just a few days, the two children had a much better attitude toward math and they were also much more secure when doing their homework.

10 X 10 = 100 WBL PROJECT – MULTIPLICATION SKILLS Yolanda Dreyer Project Objectives: Give the student time to memorize the multiplication tables and somehow evaluate their progress with some type of continuous assessment. After adequately using the courseware and have a positive evaluation for each multiplier from 0 to 10, the subject will be able to quickly give the answer to the multiplication of two digits from 0 to 10.
