I n t e g r i t y - S e r v i c e - E x c e l l e n c e Property Transfer Privatized Cleanup - McClellan Using the Early Transfer Authority with privatized cleanup to support rapid redevelopment Under this construct, 1,200 acres have been “early transferred” along with control of the environmental remediation sites Allows the Local Redevelopment Authority, or LRA, to complete restoration and redevelopment simultaneously Fostered rapid redevelopment, with over 200 companies and 14,000 people working at the former base, more than at the time of closure 8

I n t e g r i t y - S e r v i c e - E x c e l l e n c e Post Transfer Management What’s Left to Do The Air Force is responsible for, and committed to, ensuring continued protection of human health and the environment Environmental cleanup and long-term monitoring continue after transfer Precautions are taken to ensure property is safe for reuse Land use controls are inspected to ensure integrity and protectiveness The Air Force is available to provide environmental and real estate information (maps, GIS data, and historical documentation) to assist in redevelopment 10
