Volatile Oil from Eucalyptus species As Novel Bioherbicides Daizy R. BATISH*, Shalinder KAUR, Harminder Pal SINGH and Ravinder K. KOHLI Botany Department, Panjab University, Chandigarh
2
Objective of the Study To test Phytotoxicity of eucalypt volatile oils towards weeds (Echinochloa crus-galli, Parthenium hysterophorus and Cassia occidentalis). with a view to bioherbicide. choose them for development as a bioherbicide.
3
Echinochloa crus-galli Parthenium hysterophorus
4
Changes in Injury Level
5
Conclusions Eucalypt oils have a weed suppressing effect. Affect the photosynthetic and respiratory activity. Treatment causes visible injury in the mature plants Result in Rapid Electrolyte leakage – Membrane Integrity Could be Used as Bioherbicide.
