Topic #1: Jasanoff's articles illustrate the multiple types of review (scientific review by advisory committees, public review during comment period, judicial review in litigation) that an agency rulemaking undergoes before it becomes legally binding. Does this multiple review process lead to better decisionmaking?

Topic #2: What role did the Supreme Court play in determining “sound science” in Massachusetts v. EPA and Whitman v. American Trucking Association ? How does the Court view its authority and role in doing so? Is it desirable for the Supreme Court to determine what constitutes “sound science”? Why or why not?
