1 MICE Collaboration Meeting 15 Fermilab MICE Integration By Oxford University

2 We propose that the integration of the MICE Cooling Channel is driven by:- Well defined document referencing & control system; User friendly drawing directory; Document control access rights; Using a tried and proven Electronic Document Management system, such as the VAULT in the AutoCAD suite, but compatibility between different CAD software remains to be solved

3 A Tree system has been looked at to organise the MICE Cooling Channel components in such a way that:- Users know exactly what documents are available and where to find them; Helps us to interrogate if there is any missing information still to be defined and specified; The whole document control process could be managed with as little resource as possible; At Oxford, this task falls onto Stephanie’s shoulder

13 Summary We believe the ”Tree” system is the best way to manage not only the drawings, but all the design and project documents; The numbering system is crucial to its success. It allows us, and the users, to understand how each individual components are linked to the other components and where to find the information Each drawing will have 2 numbering system; one assigned by the suppliers and the other in accordance with the numbering system that we have proposed here. Users will be able to view drawings by clicking at the right links; This will be put on the MICE web page. A drawing viewer software will be available on the web. It could be downloaded by those those who do not have AutoCAD facility but wish to view drawings;
