10 Defining Entrepreneurship An entrepreneur is a promoter; a person who organizes & operates a business taking on greater risk in order to do so. (Oxford Am Dic. 2001) Innovation and entrepreneurship can come from anywhere in the Extension organization

11 Why Entrepreneurship? Extension isn’t free The climate of accountability is at all levels— county, state, and federal gov’t, and foundations & donors Issues based programming requires a variety of approaches, including funding solutions Expectation for resource generation throughout the organization
