Objectives SWBAT: Know what plagiarism is. Know how to avoid plagiarism. Be knowledgeable about how to write without plagiarizing.

Question: Have you ever copied another person’s story or idea for a story and said that it was yours? That’s plagiarism

To avoid plagiarizing another person’s ideas or words when you are writing, make sure you: 1.Cite the source (the person, book, or internet site) that you got the information from. (MLA or APA) 2.Use your own words when writing. NOTE: You don’t need to cite facts such as, “JFK WAS ELECTED AS PRESIDENT IN 1960.”
