2 Hypothalamus Perceives a threat via input from the senses. CRH (hormone) is released to pituitary gland.

3 Pituitary gland regulates the hormones secreted by the pancreas & adrenal glands. ACTH (hormone) through the blood stream.

4 Adrenal glands secrete cortisol and epinephrine “stress hormones”. Pancreas releases glucagon which increases glucose in the blood stream while inhibiting the secretion of insulin.
