SIPBS - BSc (Hons) & MSci degrees Dr Charles Kennedy - academic selector Entry requirements - general information Highers etc can be obtained over more than 1 sitting An Advanced Higher is given a greater credit than the Higher and an Advanced Higher at grade B, is counted as a grade A Higher in that subject towards the overall required grades Both Higher and Advanced Higher results in a single subject will be counted, but preference will be given to applicants with qualifications in a range of subjects. There is a high level of competition for places, so successful applications normally have qualifications in the most appropriate subjects - chemistry, (human) biology, physics, maths, English Preference also given to other subjects with relevant transferable skills, such as geography, history, modern studies, but all subjects will be taken into consideration Limited number of places on MSci degrees, so if applicant doesn’t already have 2 A’s in appropriate subjects, advised to apply for joint honours degree. Option to transfer to Msci after year 4.
