How does it work? Each fibre is placed on a star Each fibre is placed on a star The AF2pc knows all fibre positions from the previous setup field The AF2pc knows all fibre positions from the previous setup field On setting up a new field the gripper unit will move to each fibre to move it onto the next position. On setting up a new field the gripper unit will move to each fibre to move it onto the next position. The tv camera picks up at the fibre that is back illuminated The tv camera picks up at the fibre that is back illuminated After placing it will centroid again to confirm accuracy After placing it will centroid again to confirm accuracy Positioning accuracy less then 9 microns Positioning accuracy less then 9 microns AF2 and Wyffos for TO's and Duty engineersMichiel van der Hoeven October 2006

Known Problems Michiel van der Hoeven October 2006 AF2 and Wyffos for TO's and Duty engineers ProblemCauseSolution AF2 mimic blank AF2 server not running At whtics kill server and restart Lost fibre 1. Back illumination not on 2. No video signal 3. Frame grabber failure 1. Check both back illumination 2. Check Ghril monitor 3. Change to spare AF2PC AF2 not responding 1. AF2server not running 2. AF2PC needs reboot 3. AF2PC has a real fault 1. Restart AF2 server 2. Use shut account 3. Change to spare AF2PC
