Benefits Teaching your students about art is a good idea and here's why: It's been proven that early exposure to visual art, music, or drama promotes activity in the brain Art helps children understand other subjects much more clearly from math and science, to language arts and geography. Art nurtures inventiveness as it engages children in a process that aids in the development of self-esteem, self-discipline, cooperation, and self-motivation. Participating in art activities helps children to gain the tools necessary for understanding human experience, adapting to and respecting others' ways of working and thinking, developing creative problem-solving skills, and communicating thoughts and ideas in a variety of ways.

3. Different Methods Drawing is one of the most important activities you and your students can do. Drawing not only provides the basis for other creative activities - like painting, sculpture and printmaking - but it also provides a direct link with reading, writing and especially mathematics. The connection between drawing and geometric shapes and measurements simply cannot be denied. And do you know what else? Drawing is the single most accessible form of art available. All you need is a pencil and a sheet of paper.

4. My Own Experience As growing up I was offered Art class once or twice a week. My school had Physical Education, Music, and Art on a rotational schedule. I think that all three of these hold equal importance because each area provides some type of learning for everyone, while also furthering specific students in that area of interest. P.E provides some children to gain confidence in themselves in sports, but at the same time offers others self consciousness about there skills. Now I am all for P.E. I think it is very important to instill in our children correct physical activity for there life, but Art also provides many greater effects. Like stated in an earlier slide, I think one of the most important things art provides is a tool to communicating thoughts and ideas in a a variety of ways. I still think back to this day about the great memories I had in art class, and luckily I have tangible evidence of that time by art artifacts that I would make my mom and dad.

Students must be able to showcase and learn how to embrace their individuality. Art allows students to express things about themselves and the way they feel about the world around them, in ways words could never begin to. So many studio techniques as well as the vast world of technology all come together in the art room. The art room is a haven where students can be who they are and step outside of the box that so many other subjects require. Art is an amazing academic subject that incorporates and reinforces other subjects. It is to be taken seriously. The art room is a place where classroom management procedures exist,make no mistake; however it is also a place where interaction with peers is encouraged and self-discovery dictates much of the lessons learned. Art is powerful; not only because of what can physically be created in art class, and what skills can be learned, but what life lessons can be learned by the students when they open their minds and realize who they are and how to express that to others.”
