Adaptations Viruses adapt to their hosts by evading defense mechanisms and taking over the cell’s metabolism for their own benefit. A virus can only attach to very few types of cells. In other viruses the attachment protein is in the capsid or in the envelope

Would You Consider your Kingdom Complex or Simple? Viruses are complex organisms because it can adapt to there host and come in a variety of forms. Also they spread quickly from host to host.

Interesting Facts There are a million virus particles per milliliter of seawater and if stretched from end to end they would reach 200 million light years into space. The name virus came from the Latin word meaning slimy liquid or poison. Viruses are not living. They are inanimate complex organic matter.
