Purpose of this project: 1.Research a college/trade school/branch of the military/job that interests you 2.Gather information about your future. For example, learn more about the college admissions process including High School grades required, and SAT/ACT scores needed. 3.Present your findings in a creative and informative powerpoint.

Research: Admission Requirements: – What grade point average from high school will you need to be accepted? – What are the SAT and ACT requirements for the school? – What type of school is it? – Percent of acceptance? – What happens if you don’t meet the SAT/ACT requirements? Can you still be accepted? If so, how?

Research: Cost: – Instate Tuition versus Out of state Tuition – Room and Board Charges – Fees – Types of Payment options for Tuition

Research: Degrees and Programs: – What types of Degrees do they offer? – What are some classes you must take? – What is the typical number of hours? – Special Programs offered? – Required courses? – Majors offered?

Research: Social and Extracurricular Activities: – Services offered? – Computers/Library Services? – Housing? Coed/Gender Specific? – Social Organizations offered? – Clubs that you can join? – Athletics and Intramural Sports? Which are only for women? Which are only for men?

Immediate Employment Salary and Benefits – What is your salary range? Are you paid hourly? – Do you have opportunities to work overtime? – How many hours will you work in a typical week? – Will you receive benefits? (health insurance, dental, 401K, etc)

Immediate Employment Future Is there room for advancement? Is there training required to advance? Is this a field that is projected to grow in the future? What is the outlook for this field in the years ahead?

Immediate Employment History of the Company/Job – What are the origins of the company? When did it open? Who opened it? – What are the origins of the job? – What need did the company/job fill when it was created? – Any other interesting facts from the history of the company/job

Immediate Employment Drawbacks – What are the potential drawbacks of this job? Positives What are the potential positive aspects of this job?

Required Assignment Prepare a PowerPoint Presentation over your research. Presentation should have 8-10 slides. Should last no longer than 2 minutes. Should be creative, informative, and well done. No late presentations. Computer lab opens at 745 every day.
