Egypt Solar Resources Egypt is blessed with abundant solar energy. 2,500KWH/m2/yr or 1.2MBOE/km2/yr Egypt has an opportunity to lead in selected solar technologies. We need this for; –National development (e.g. remote areas) –Job creation –National security –Exports

Industrial Process Heat Market in Egypt - 1995 data (ref. 1998 NREA/Fichtner study). - 1995 fuel consumption is equiv. to 136,000 barrels of fuel/day that is conservatively valued at over $1 billion a year (excld. Transport). - Study predicts a 32% increase in 2003 and 73% by 2011.

Financed by an African Development Bank grant. Managed by NREA (New & Renewable Energy Authority) & the Ministry of Electricity
