7 th Grade Science 2009-2010 Tom Pee Major Concepts: The Human Body Systems, Nutrition, Diseases, Cell Reproduction, Genetics Weather and Climate Electricity Drugs and Alcohol

Major Research Project Disease Paper Research will begin in November and will be due before the break in December. Checkpoints will be established so that each student does not fall behind and has the chance to change anything he/she may want to change. All of this information will be on the webpage and will be sent home with each student.

What is the purpose? Students will learn how to raise questions about the natural world, test their ideas and communicate their observations to others. Students will learn how to record data and analyze information about the world around them. My goal is to encourage students to ask questions about their world and become more excited about learning science.

Measuring Progress Grades will be based on a combination of homework, daily assignments, labs, quizzes and Opportunities (aka tests), research projects and daily participation. A syllabus with class policies and detailed grading policies will be distributed on Monday and should be signed by the student and parent.
