1. 7 th Grade Science 2009-2010 Tom Pee Major Concepts: The Human Body Systems, Nutrition, Diseases, Cell Reproduction, Genetics Weather and Climate Electricity Drugs and Alcohol

Major Research Project  Disease Paper  Research will begin in November and will be due before the break in December.  Checkpoints will be established so that each student does not fall behind and has the chance to change anything he/she may want to change.  All of this information will be on the webpage and will be sent home with each student.

3. What is the purpose?  Students will learn how to raise questions about the natural world, test their ideas and communicate their observations to others.  Students will learn how to record data and analyze information about the world around them.  My goal is to encourage students to ask questions about their world and become more excited about learning science.

4. Measuring Progress Grades will be based on a combination of homework, daily assignments, labs, quizzes and Opportunities (aka tests), research projects and daily participation. A syllabus with class policies and detailed grading policies will be distributed on Monday and should be signed by the student and parent.
