2 Milestones in ICEF history 1995 The idea to create ICEF appears within the framework of the joint European project “Contemporary economic education at MSU” of the “Tempus” programme. 1997 ICEF is founded at HSE with the academic support of LSE. The first group of 38 students are admitted to its novel double degree BSc programme. 2001 The first graduation ceremony for ICEF students is held, and the first ICEF graduates are awarded HSE and University of London degrees. 2004 Recruitment of full time teachers who are PhD graduates from leading foreign universities begins. 2007 ICEF launches its Masters programme in Financial Economics with the academic support of LSE. 2008 ICEF offers a new double degree programme in Economics based on the Diploma for Graduates. LSE Director Howard Davies visits ICEF, conducts a seminar for ICEF MSc students and gives a public lecture on the financial crisis
