SLS And SM Move to Purchasing Supplier Management (which SLS is part of) is moving to Purchasing Aug. 1 –No change in service level for Site Licensed Software –Mike Dangler is moving over Mike Emanuele is not: please begin directing correspondence to dangler.8 instead Aug. 1 –software@osu.edu will continue to function as primary contactsoftware@osu.edu

SLS And SM Move to Purchasing SLS will become more involved in across- campus purchases –Reviewing a broader set of contracts –Greater access to spend information –Please be patient Mike Dangler (dangler.8) responsible for software procurement Jenny Culp responsible for infrastructure/hardware procurement

Microsoft SQL Addition Products included: –SQL Server CAL’s (all fac/staff/students) –SQL Server Platform Academic –SQL Server Enterprise –SQL Server Standard –SQL Server Business Intelligence –Microsoft BizTalk Server (all editions)

Microsoft SQL Addition OCIO will provide the SQL 2014 Core licenses to SLSC’s in the next few days (will appear in self service) –There are two different license types for SQL Enterprise, with different software: Core-based licenses CAL-based licenses –Core-based licenses have no limitations built in, and can be more broadly used. –If a need for a CAL-based version arises, we can make that avialable

Office 365 for Students All licensing/contract issues resolved with renewal of the campus agreement Working on roll-out process for students –Testing is in progress –Working to determine how distribution will occur, and how it will roll out (and what options will roll out) –Also reviewing processes for support Students remain the top priority. Faculty and staff will require an additional cost

Wolfram Alpha Pro Arts and Sciences provides funding for the Mathematica license –An opportunity has arisen to add Wolfram Alpha Pro –See Brian Keller (keller.4) for cost sharing –Mathematica is expected to be renewed for another 3-year agreement

Secunia 7 Upgrade Site Licensing has sent out CSI 7 logins to all account holders on CSI 6 –Necessitated a different login name –Mailings sent on 6/20 with one-time use passwords –Check spam/junk filters if you expected one but did not receive one, or contact software@osu.edu for an account software@osu.edu –All Secunia CSI 6 accounts remain active

Red Hat OCIO has renewed an enterprise-wide agreement for Red Hat Enterprise Linux Support Site Licensing will manage accounts –Pending a transfer of licenses from OCIO to SLS –Satellites are not included OCIO has requested a single price list and a mechanism for purchasing –Agreement covers all support at the university

Renewals/Upgrades SPSS –Renewals on July 31, 2014 –PO was acknowledged on July 30, 2014 –OCIO is working with IBM to generate codes and roll them out –Requests in Self Service will be fulfilled as quickly as possible –If you have a server, contact software@osu.edu with your MAC address and version you require software@osu.edu

Renewals ArgGIS/ESRI –Licenses expire July 30; OCIO is working on a license server esri.service.ohio-state.edu, port 27000 This should work now. Rolling out license information as quickly as possible to current users who cannot access the above license server –Desktops/Servers: Contact software@osu.edu (copy dangler.8) with version, MAC address, and number of copiessoftware@osu.edu –Concurrent License Servers: contact software@osu.edu (copy dangler.8) with version, MAC address, and number of concurrent copies you need.software@osu.edu

Renewals MATLAB –Licenses expire August 30 –Pricing is roughly the same as last year –Codes expected mid-August PO to be started August 1 SAS –Licenses expire Sept. 30 –Pricing expected to remain the same; pricing update for sure at the next Team meeting

Autodesk Agreement expires on Sept. 7, 2014 Autodesk has changed their agreement –The product is “free for educational use” Universities get allotments of the free licenses SLS will manage these licenses –Facilities use is no longer free “Facilities Use” is any use that revolves around our facilities that is not done by a student or student employee learning a skill or engaged in a class

Site Licensing continues to work with Adobe on the Creative Cloud licenses –Contract received from Adobe –Redlines being prepared –Purchase expected to go forward –Reviewing reseller options, vs. direct purchase Adobe Creative Cloud ETLA
