8 Phases Defined  DBA started upgrade process on December 2004  Provides access to Developers by Mid December  Developer being testing the new box Ver 11.5.10  Phases: Demo Database, CRP1,CRP2,CRP3, UAT, Pre-production exercise and Final GO LIVE Production

9 CRP 1  User community gave top 10 Oracle standard reports to the upgrade team  Top 10 discover and custom reports  Upgrade team made the Vanilla Oracle 11.5.10 application working  Upgrade team tested all reports provided by user community

10 CRP 2  Upgrade team started working on bugs discovered in top ten reports  Started working on custom programs

11 CRP 3 and UAT  Simultaneous phases.  User community started testing the applications on UAT instance  Upgrade team continued to resolve TARs, apply new patches and fix top ten report and customization problems

12 Testing Scripts  IT developed a complete set of testing scripts for its internal testing.  Users used it as a template to create their own testing scripts for user Acceptance Testing.

15 Oracle 11.5.10 Upgrade Go Live  DBA Started upgrade at 5:00PM on Friday (4/22)  24x7 round clock DBA Upgrade process (4/22-4/25)  Released to IT Apps at 7:00AM on Monday (4/25)  Released to Super users at 11:30AM on Monday (4/25)  Go live decision meeting took place around 2:00PM on Monday (4/25)  Complete upgrade and release to users at 8:00PM (4/25) Production Upgrade Time Line:
