What Is Tau Sigma? Tau Sigma is an academic honor society designed specifically to recognize and promote the academic excellence and involvement of transfer students

History of Tau Sigma Idea was conceived in 1986 by Dr. Lee Colquitt while a transfer at Auburn University Grant awarded in May, 1998 by Auburn University to start Tau Sigma Tau Sigma was incorporated in September, 1999 First induction ceremony was held in November 1999 (150 new members)

Tau Sigma Membership Criteria Student must transfer with the equivalent of at least one full year’s academic credits Student must obtain at least a 3.5 G.P.A. or rank among the top 20% of all transfer students in the first term at the institution to which he/she transferred Student must be full time status (12 credit hours) during first semester at new institution

What’s Happening at Oswego? The Chapter participates in fundraising activities during the academic semester. Fundraisers scheduled for the spring semester are being done through Fajita Grill and Cam’s Pizza. The Chapter organizes and sponsors Tau Sigma’s Induction Ceremony. New members are encouraged to attend the induction ceremony. This event is to honor you for your hard work and dedication at Oswego. The Oswego Chapter is also planning several programs such as an Honor Society Greek Week and a campus wide community service project.
