MARC tags 700-730—Added entries n Main vs added entry u Every bib record has one main entry u Is either a name (author, composer, performer, corporate body, etc.) or title (uniform title or title proper) n Added entries establish authorized access points for: u Creators that are not given main entry and/or u Additional creators that contribute to the work (mixed/joint responsibility) n Records may have multiple added entries

MARC tags 700-730—Added entries n Use to list additional responsibility or responsibility that cannot be given main entry u Editors/compilers u AACR—more than three authors F 245 $c—record 1 st author … [et al.]. F Record gets title main entry; 1 st author given added entry u Corporate bodies F Limited instances where corporate body is given main entry See AACR 21.1B2 or RDA 19.2.1.1.1 F Usually corporate bodies are added entries Exception: musical groups on musical sound recordings F Videos—production companies, publisher, distributor

MARC tags—76X-78X—linking fields n Most commonly used with serials n 780—Preceding entry u In record for a serial that has a new title, links to preceding (old) title u 2 nd indicator provides more specific info n 785—Succeeding entry u In record for old title, links to succeeding (new) title u 2 nd indicator provides more specific info n 787—Other relationship entry u More complex relationships not covered under 780 or 785
