4 Classroom Schedule- programa del clase Posted in the room  Very important to be on time! If a student is late by just 5 minutes every day that would be equivalent to missing 2.5 days of school Specials schedule  Mon.-Technology- computadora  Tues.- Owl Time  Wed.-Media- biblioteca  Thurs.- P.E.- gimnasio  Fri.- Music- musica

5 Classroom Expectations- Espero por los ninos Students should come to school on time and prepared. Llegar a tiempo Homework folders must go home every night and return every morning. They should be checked by parents and anything on the stay home side needs to be taken out of the folder. Veer a la tarea todos los noches. Estudientes necessitas toma la carpeta a la case y a la escuela Students will follow all school rules and our classroom promise. Estudientes necesita siga la instrucciones

6 Homework- La Tarea All students have homework daily- Estudianes tiene tarea todos los dias  Read 10 minutes- Leer 10 minutos  Complete spelling homework for the night  Weekly math homework Homework is due on Friday Spelling test is every Friday- el examen es Viernes

7 Student Goals- objetivos del estudiantes Each student has set a goal that they will work to meet by October. Please ask your child regularly if they are working to meet their goal Share with your child goals that you have Set a goal for you and your child to meet together

9 Organizational skills- Habilidad de organizacion Organization gives students the best chance at succeeding  Keep a calendar of important dates- Tiene un calendario para dias importante  Introduce your child to checklists such as “Things to do Before Bed”- Usa una lista de control  Get ready the night before- prepara la antes de noche  Require them to keep their room organized  Schoolwork should be organized  Establish a homework routine- cree una tiempo para la tarea

10 HOURS for organization H- homework- Tarea O- Organize- organizacion U- Unwind- relajarse R-Read- leer  10 minutes every night S- Sleep- dormir  Studies show children should get 9 hours of sleep

11 Study Skills- Habilidad de estudiar Develop a routine with your child- cree una rutina con su nino Have them use their notes if they are unsure how to do their homework- toma las notas a la casa Plan ahead for tests and projects- don’t wait until the last night- estudiar antes de la examen Break it into pieces- if there is a lot to learn, review a little at a time Get a good night’s sleep!- dormir mucho!

12 Literacy Make sure your child has a variety of books to choose from. Su nino necesita muchos libros para leer  School library, home library, town library  A library card is free! Una tarjeta por la biblioteca es libre Reading  A student is not simply reading. They should be re-reading to gain fluency, asking themselves questions when reading, and writing about their reading. 14 Writing- Escribir Make writing fun!- Cree la escritura diversion! Have students keep a journal. Writing just one sentence a day of what they did will help boost confidence. Estudiantes tiene undiario de escritura Let them write about whatever they want Students benefit greatly from writing about their reading 21 st century learners can also type their thoughts- Puede escribir con una computadora
