The indirect object is to whom or for whom an action (verb) is performed. Remember not all sentences have an indirect object. example: Yo compro les compro chocolates a los niños. in order to know who is the indirect object we ask to whom? ¿A quién? or for whom? ¿Para quién? ¿A quién les compro chocolates? The answer is: a los niños (a los niños is the indirect object)
2
The IOP (indirect object pronouns) replaces the noun of the indirect object. - ¿Les compras chocolates a los niños? Are you buying chocolates for the children? - Sí, les compro chocolates. Yes, I am buying chocolates for them.
