Homework for Monday, February 5 or Tarea para el jueves el 5 de febrero Choose a flag of one of the 21 Spanish speaking countries you are interested in and follow your flag rubric. See page on homework page of WSCA. Due February 12. Write on a flash card the short dialogue I provided and practice with me the next 3 class days February 5, 9 and 10 in preparation for Feb 12. Bring to next class and show me, please. Study colors, listen to link video of Spanish colors and numbers 1- 10. Review formal and informal greetings and ways to say good bye. Know them in Spanish and English.

Greetings/ Saludo Formal (In both cases the students are formally greeting the adults) Buenos días Señorita GarcíaBuenos días Señor Gómez

Saludo Formal When addressing a man: Hola! Señor….. When addressing a woman: Hola! Señora….. Or Señorita….! Greet adults : When talking to a man use: señor, Sr. When talking to a woman use: señora, Sra. When talking to an unmarried lady use: señorita, Srta.

Ways to answer when you are introduced to someone your age. ¿Cómo te llamas? Me llamo Carlos. Lisa, te presento a Liana. Lisa, this is Liana. Ways to answer after you meet someone: Encantado = Delighted. (if you are a male you end the word with o) Encantada = Delighted. (if you are a female you end with a) You can also say when meeting someone for the first time: Mucho gusto = Pleased to meet you. Then you could answer. Igualmente = likewise.
